Polished Concrete Foundations
Polished concrete is one of the most durable, low-maintenance and striking floor finishes available — and one of the most misunderstood. This course is the foundation everything else builds on. In Polished Concrete Foundations you’ll learn what polished concrete actually is (and what it isn’t), how to assess a slab before you touch a machine, how to prepare the substrate, and how to execute your first full grind with confidence.
About this course
Polished concrete is one of the most durable, low-maintenance and striking floor finishes available — and one of the most misunderstood. This course is the foundation everything else builds on.
In Polished Concrete Foundations you’ll learn what polished concrete actually is (and what it isn’t), how to assess a slab before you touch a machine, how to prepare the substrate, and how to execute your first full grind with confidence.
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- Explain the difference between polished concrete, ground concrete and sealed concrete
- Read a slab: identify cracks, dusting, contamination and cure compounds
- Select the right diamond segments for the first cut
- Set up a grinder with the correct speed, pressure and path
- Finish a small area to a consistent, dust-controlled result
This is a hands-on course. Every lesson includes a practical checklist you can print and take to the floor.
